Do I have a chance with Ombudsman?

Hi
I have had a PPI claim with Egg credit card and also a capital credit union loan turned town. I appealed to ombudsman today. How likely are they to find in my favour? Thank you

How are we expected to know if you give us no details of what you complained of, nor of why the Bank declined?

Sorry, I meant in general what is the percentage chance of success? For both claims I did not need the insurance as have six months full pay and six months have pay at work if off sick. I already had life insurance and would receive redundnacy if paid off from work. I also have an underlying health conditon. The Egg card PPI was sold online and the loan with credit union was online and the finalised over the phone. Hope that helps.

I assume the Bank didn't uphold your complaints because both were "non-advised" sales?
I wouldn't hold out too much hope for these if I were you and you'll wait for many months to find out for sure.

I was going to say what Moneyinepitude said. Credit Card PPI sales are usually non advised. In a non advised sale they dont have to check if its suitable.
Life insurance is not PPI so thats irelevant. You wouldnt get redundancy if the company you worked for went bust also so thats irelevant.

    Life assurance doesnt overlap PPI.
Redundancy is only paid if company has money to pay it. It doesnt overlap with PPI.
. I also have an underlying health conditon.

Is it one that is so signficant that it prevents most illness claims? If yes, then you have a case. If no, then it doesnt matter. Just having a medical condition doesnt automatically invalidate you.

Mu undrlying health condition is covered by the DDA and it puts my critcal illness/ life and holiday insurance premiums up.

The PPI guidanve said 'The company who sold you the insurance (this is often the bank or lender with loans and credit cards) has a duty to ensure the PPI was appropriate for you' so I thought that might apply to me. I work for civil service so I am pretty well covered.

Also the egg credit card was from 2003 if the date makes any difference.

If you do refer your complaint to the ombudsman, then be prepared to wait upto 2 years or more likely longer before it actually gets to an final ombudsman.
