Co-op: Good with money...Crap with customers

If you're thinking of paying for any service or product from the Co-Op...think again. Here's why...
When my father passed away last year - Co-Op simply failed to turn up. No notice, no call - they just left us waiting for 3 hours until the police called another company.
The motor and home insurance departments (technically the same company) do not talk to each other and cannot access the others' systems. They kept on taking motor insurance money and when I called about it, they simply didn't care that they messed up. They wouldn't do anything until I sent the documents that they had returned back to them. No appology made.
The home insurance expired in feb, and they kept taking the money. No renewal notification was sent, no automatic renewal in the policy. Once again they didn't care that they messed up. No appology made.
Cancelling 1 policy, transferring a second and claiming on a third has taken around 12 letters and 10 phone calls. Beyond a joke!
I complained to them in mid-feb, informing them of how useless they were. I got a vague acknowledgement back and have heard nothing since. I shall shortly be taking the matter up with the financial ombudsman.
I cannot recommend avoiding any Co-Op company strongly enough.
