    In short - claimants who are sanctioned for leaving work, and later claim benefit have a sanction that runs from the period they claim up to 26 weeks.

    This is what I'd understood, and was correct.

    However.
    This is usually reduced by days when JSA is not received between the loss of employment, and the date of claim.

    In most circumstances, this means that it's as if the sanction starts at the date of leaving, and continues to run through the 'holiday'.
