About to start Full and FInal Settlements, can anyone offer advice?

I have been on Debt management with Harrington brookes for 10 years now, and my Dad has offered to try and help me get final settlements. I asked HB and they will take 40% of the settlement figure to do it for me so I want to try myself, takign one debt at a time off my plan.

The debts I have are (amounts given today by Harrington Brooks):

Cabot (old credit card) £1930
Barclay loan £7122
Barclay overdraft £408.07
Credit solutions (Old credit card) £1559
Link (old MBNA card) £561

Total £11580

I want to try to settle to 2 barclays ones first as they are the biggest chunk of the debt, has anyone dealt with these before?

Ive already sorted an old O2 account today that was on my plan but had gone into credit so got that took off my plan!

I'm 30 in june so my plan is to be Debt free by then if i can! :j

no start at 20% and do not go over 30% just settled a few old defaults for less than 30% if they said 40 to start you know they will go lower. look how old they are.

All of them are 10 years old now, I'm off to google the details of the company the barclays ones are with. Did you settle by letter or over the phone?

How much have you paid to them in costs over ten years? you will cry if you work it out..what a waste of money...you could of got it done for free..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

I know! At least if I get it sorted now myself I will save what I would have spent in the next 5 years still on my DMP!
