Travel insurance for flight with Thomas cook

Hi,


We have just booked a flight to mexico with Thomas cook but we are slightlyworried that TC might go bust before xmas which is when we are traveling. TC isABTA but as we have booked flight only I don't think we are covered. Not manyinsurance companies seem to cover financial failure of scheduled airline. Could anyone recommended one as somecompanies are notoriously bad on paying out?

Thomas cook are also ATOL protected which covers flight only.

I believe that ATOL bonding of flight only only applies if the flight is booked via a travel agent and not online.

We are booked on TC flights for september and to be honest I cant see them going bust but, you can get cover for this if you go insureandgo and choose the policy that has this included. The extras are usually on the left of any quote and it does have this option there.

Direct Travel among others provide Scheduled Airline Failure at an additional premium.

You are not covered by ATOL if you have booked flight only, the rules regarding ATOL protection have changed only this week but there is still no ATOL protection for flight only.
