2 tvs 1 sky dish

I am upgrading to sky via the new deal and wondered if I can get a Y connector to go into the connection on the Sat dish and run another cable to another tv and put another sky box in, will this mean we can watch different channels on seperate tvs?

If you just want Freeview on the 2nd box, then you can get an LNB, the thingy on the end of your dish, that has up to 4 connectors on it. This would allow say, one Sky+ and 2 Freeview boxes to be all connected at the same time. If you want to subscribe to Sky's multiroom service then the above link from cledor is the way.

if you get Sky plus installed as standard, the enginer will install a second box in your other room as part of the multiroom package

Maybe I have misunderstood but surely having two Sky boxes running off two cables joined with a Y connector at the LNB will cause conflicts between the two boxes.

Each could be asking the LNB to switch to different Transponders.

I'm not an expert so I might be talking rubbish.

NO, you can not do this with a standard LNB on the dish. Each box needs a seperate output from the dish, and a Sky + or HD box need two outputs from the dish.
