Electrical sign off

We had a building extension and our builder used his electrician to sign off the new circuits. I was given an electrical installation certificate and was told it would be registered online and then issued to us and our local building control office (so that they can issue the final building regulations sign off).
After 2 months we are still waiting for the notification and I've not been able to get hold of the electrician.
I understand there are 4 registration authorities NICEIC and others?? Can anyone confirm the other 3 as I think I might need to check directly that the electrician is registered. He isn't a member of NICEIC.
Thanks

Its the builders responsibility as its him that you are contracted with so I don't know why you are chasing moonbeams with the sparks. Why don't you ask the BCO where your Completion Certificate is and just let the ripples spread out from there. In any event 2 months is nothing in paper pushing terms.

You can find out if he is Part P registered on the following link.4

which won't change the fact that its the builders responsibility not the individual sparky in terms ofd the OPs relationship with their contractor. Companies can be "competant persons" as well as individuals and if the builders company is a "competant person" then the quallies of the electrician are between the builder and his employee. Chasing the sparky down is a red herring and a total waste of time. Its the builder OP needs to be chasing. Now if the rules have been broken somewhere down the line (yes I know there's no suggestion that there have been) its still the builder's responsibility and its him that authorities would be interested in.You can find out if he is Part P registered on the following link.

Why, they asked if there was a way they could find out if the electrician was registered on a competent persons scheme, regardless of your opinions.
I provided a way for them to find out what they wanted, not what you think will happen.

You would be one hundred percent correct if you hadn't read the post from the bottom up or if the OP had just asked "how do I find out...............Why, they asked if there was a way they could find out if the electrician was registered on a competent persons scheme, regardless of your opinions.
OP said "I think I might need to........" as a consequence of the conclusion of "..... not being able to reach the electrician" but its the person who employs the electrician that they have their contract with. Also if the work was done on the basis that the builders company is a "competant person" then they may not find the electrician in the place to which you have directed them. Would that cause them further anxiety if it was the case? Yes probably. Is it professional to give advice which might unecessarily lead to anxiety? No it isn't really.
Its really very simple.
My post was based on the context of the whole question not just cherry picking part of it................ not what you think will happen.
In any case I haven't given any opinions on what I think will happen. Does that mean you didn't read what I wrote either?
Whilst you using my signoff might be considered a form of flattery I'd be grateful if you didn't but then again I can't claim sole rights and its a free country.Cheers.

The OP asked of the other registration bodies available, I posted a link to a site that you can find anyone trades person registered to any competent person scheme. So they could check the credentials of the electrician doing the work.
Maybe you should read the question that is asked, then you would realize you post was nothing but drivel going nowhere to answer the question.
Or didn't I realize than when you posted an answer it would always be correct and no one need post anything. Sorry maybe you should put that in your signature to save other minions like myself the effort of doing so

You are still not reading as the real question is in the first paragraph of the OPs post not the bit you decided to cherry pick. I answered the OPs question in post #2 its you who is perpetuating the nonsense. The OP asked of the other registration bodies available, I posted a link to a site that you can find anyone trades person registered to any competent person scheme. As you seem to want to start to become absusive I'm going to bow out of this thread now. If you want to have the last word thats fine by me. I really don't care.Or didn't I realize than when you posted an answer it would always be correct and no one need post anything. Sorry maybe you should put that in your signature to save other minions like myself the effort of doing so
My, my you are easy aren't you? Can I have my hook back now please?Cheers

I thought the man from the council still came out, as our electrician did his bit online and when i rang the council he came out for a quick final check before signing off. My completion cert arrived very swiftly, a few days only.
