Spybot Message - MS Security Centre Disabled

Not sure why, but when I ran Spybot this morning I got up "MS Security Centre Disabled". I am wary about clicking the fix it button - any advice very welcome!

Which security software do you use? Some security apps will disable ms security and cause spybot to pick it up as a problem.

I have Norton, but this has never been an issue up until today, so not sure why all of a sudden it has thrown this up.

I couldn't say for sure if it's Norton as I uninstall Norton every time I see it on a pc so I never give it a chance to be scanned with spybot.

Spybot will state if the security settings for windows are off. This could be because Norton is installed. Within spybot you can select the issue and tell it not to re inform you of it on the next run.

Yes, but but what I don't understand is why all of a sudden is Spybot coming up with this? I have previously scanned with Spybot, and have had Norton for ages, and this has not been an issue.

And if I have Norton, do I need the security settings for Windows to be on or off?

Not sure really - It is poss a norton update has done this for whatever reason. I'm of the same opinion that if a pc has norton - uninstall it. Put avg on it and if you want paid for protection get avg pro.

Possibly because of an update to the Spybot detection rules. You can right-click the item and choose Always ignore (or similar).

I'd agree. If the last update included an engine update then spybot may have picked it up as a new program changing the windows security setting.

I'm covering my bases and saying I agree with Chippy as well. :D
