PPI on closed account

Think i posted my question in the wrong section originally. My husband had a credit card with Lloyds that has since been closed and is being paid off via a debt collection agency on a monthly basis. He did not apply for PPI on his original agreement but they added it anyway. They are now saying they wont refund it as he had chances every month to cancel it when he received his monthly statements
but he didnt. What can we do now?

There is nothing wrong with having PPI. Paying it monthly is how it should be. You cant just complain because you paid it. You need valid complaint reasons. What were your complaint reasons and what evidence did you have to support them?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I dont understand your response. The credit card became a debt that my husband couldnt pay at the time and 6years on it has reared its ugly head and he is now paying the credit card debt off monthly to the debt agency. When I asked the agency for copies of all his statements and the original application I noticed that he had been charged PPI each month but he never asked for it. I then tried to get the PPi total cleared/refunded in order to reduce the debt as he didnt ask for it but they said no because he could have cancelled it at any time as he must have seen it on his statements each month.0

Just send the complaint to Lloyds with valid reasons why you feel it was mis-sold. SimpleI dont understand your response. You didnt give any reason for complaint. Yet asked us what you could do now. Unless we know what reasons you complained about, it is hard to comment on the response you got. When I asked the agency for copies of all his statements and the original application I noticed that he had been charged PPI each month but he never asked for it.
That is a very weak complaint. The obvious answer is that if he didnt want it then why did he keep paying it. It would have appeared each and every month as a payment. Most people seeing a payment they didnt authorise would contact the card provider straight away. So, the response from the bank is logical and what you would expect.
What other reasons do you have for complaint which are more likely to succeed?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
