  • I also recieved a call today regarding mms, I said I wouldn't pay the 199, he gave me his name, and number and said call back. I thought I would have heard about on the news etc if this was a real thing? :\

Can you please report this to consumer@claimsregulation.gov.uk

Hi,I was called today(15/10/12) about Mis sold Mortgages by T tal Financial Solutions, they told me that Northern Rock were one of the worst lenders for mis selling & having inflated rates & charges, the caller said that I could claim back around £30,000 in excess charges & interest, they asked for an upfront fee of £299 then reduced this to £199 when told couldn't afford this & that this was refundable if the succesfull or the claim was under £5000,the address given was CoOperation House, CoOperation Road, Loughor, Swansea,SA46SD,also gave me what they said was their licence number,CRM22260,anyone had any dealings with this company,I found a link saying to stay away that they are a scam.
    Thanks

Hi, total financial solutions is a legit company not a scam, they have helped me claim back a lot of money for my ppi, very happy with their services! they are registered with the moj, if they were scamming people they would be shut down asap by the moj, thanks.

The MOJ shut down over 700 companies last year and is still doing it on high volume. It is not a pro-active regulator and relies on complaints getting to a certain volume before it even looks at a company.

Regulated by the MOJ is not a security blanket and should not be treated as such. Virtually anyone can be up and running as a claims company and regulted by the MOJ within a couple of weeks.

You'll excuse me if I'm suspicious of a brand new poster signing up purely to say how great a particular CMC is...

If a CMC argues that it must be OK because it's regulated by the MoJ, I'd be curious about how it thinks all these FSA regulated firms have managed to make such a mess of PPI.
  • I foolishly paid a deposit to this company after hearing all the money I should be owed from the miss selling of my mortgage. I was a little sceptical but I was told my deposit was fully refundable in the unlikely event of not receiving any money back from my claim. After weeks past I made my 1st telephone call to them as I had not recieved any paperwork so they said they would post out more. Another week past still no paperwork so made another call to find out they were being posted to an address I had not lived at for over 8years. I supplied them the correct details still no paperwork so I decided to reclaim my deposit. I was told it would take a couple of weeks to be returned so after this time lapsed I rang them up to be told that I was given false information and that I needed to complete a form to request the deposit back. Two days and the form arrives in the post (horray) I simply sign and post back. Phone up a week later to check on progress no answer. I manage to find a contact number via the website and speak to someone who informs me that TFS are being merged with themselves and that the best possible way to get my money back is to ask my credit card company to do a chargeback. This could take 4/6 weeks to complete.

Whilst they may be a genuine company working on people's claims when things go wrong they are hard work and leave you worrying if you have been scammed. They use caller display phones which makes getting though to them difficult I used various phones so they didn't no it was me calling.

I'm awaiting my credit card company to reclaim my deposit paid if that doesn't work I shall be making a train journey down to Swansea, anyone require any office equipment?😏

I signed up because I was very happy with their service and thought they deserved a bit of credit for the work they are doing. They claimed my PPI back without any problems and I am very happy with the outcome.

I wonder how much these saints charged you for doing something that you could have very easily and without any hassle done yourself for free...

All CMC's do is send prewritten template letters to the bank giving eight weeks to refund. If no refund is given them send a prewritten template questionaire and prewritten complaint form to the FOS (a free service).

All you are paying for is a couple of letters and forms that were completed before you even made your complaint.. CMC's are experts at getting money for nothing....

A CMC can do nothing that you can't do for yourself for free. You might even be surprised to learn that some CMC's are run by people that used to sell PPI and have since closed down. So some people have made money from you buying ppi and by you reclaiming ppi...

It is a funny old world....

In short, avoid CMC's like the plague... Just use the templates from consumer websites as these are almost identical to those used by CMC's.....

I had a phone call 4 months ago by total financial solutions and i was asked about ppi i had on a mortgage. I agreed to pay the fee of £150. I was very sceptical and worried for 2 days, I also found out after the call my partner was scammed by a ppi company a year ago in Swansea so i was even more worried. However the paperwork arrived and i completed it and returned it. After 7 weeks i did not have any phone calls to tell me what was happening so i called them. There was a very helpful man called john who said he will call me back to give me an update. at this point i thought i was going to have to call back every day to get an answer, but i was wrong he told me he had sent a chaser to the bank and we would find out in two weeks. I waited the two weeks and was told there was no ppi there on one of my claims but the other claim there was money owned but it was only £23.40 in charges. However he said he would refund me as it did not make me better off. With in a week the £150 was back in my account. I was over the moon with the service I had and I am now pursing a mortgage claim with the company as it turns out my mortgage has been miss sold, and i have already had £600 back in mortgage exit fees back . I do understand that there are bad claim companies out there was this one seems to do there best, and they have done what they promised. I found out after the call my wife was scammed by a ppi company i

Wow someone else that has joined moneysavingexpert for the sole purpose of telling people how good this one CMC is...

So this excellent CMC wanted to charge £150 for prewritten template letters and prewritten complaint forms..

So to earn their £150.00 the only costs they would incur is the price of a couple of stamps..... Sounds like a right bargain....

Take it yourself for free, with the prewritten template letters you can find on the consumer forum, it only take minutes to do it for yourself...
