Thanks for starting the thread sunshine

    Yay ! Hump day !

    Today I have/will:
    • Meals from stores
    • Checked online banking
    • Charged mobile at work
    • LSD today – only a coffee at college and some coffee mate
    • Keep my head down today – busy day
    • Used railpass to get to and from work
    • Read paper online and freebie paper
    • College after work
    • Early night
    • Depending in today at work, possibly email an agency about meeting up – I need a job in hometown before I go mad ! (hmmm, work in progress)

    Hi Again,

Just wanted people's views of whether this is cunning, sensible or taking the mick (this has been done to me by close family, so I do not know whether I am being over sensitive)

Ok, just wanted to run something by you......would you do this?

    1. Borrow money from family – in this case £150
    2. Not pay back money, ignore phone calls etc
    3. Buy a new car (the old one was not worth repairing) – ok, quite sensible !
    4. Still ignore phone calls, family eventually give up !
    5. Partner posts on twitter and FB ‘Getting my NEW car tomorrow’ – yes, you’ve got it a NEWer Car – about 2 months after buying the previous car

Sensible or taking the mick ???

If I borrowed from family, then I'd pay it back first, or at least discuss why I couldn't and agree a time when it would be paid back.

I certainly wouldn't just ignore all contact.

Anyone ever have one of those days where you just sit and think "what can I do to make more money?"?!

    Having one today.

    Anyway. Things for today.

    1. Check online banking - done, paid £20 to Credit Card that OH transferred for half the 100 2nd class stamps investment. Moved rest to VSP.
    2. Been to Dwell at lunchtime, bought a lovely pug headed biscuit jar with the £20 voucher from the newsletter.
    3. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks from stores.
    4. Waited for cheaper bus back from hospital appointment - saved 70p.
    5. Tried to phone tax credits helpline about payment received this month when I thought they were going to stop - no answer after 10 minutes and battery running out so hung up. Will just transfer this and all future payments into a savings account so it's not a problem to pay them back.

I think that's it - have good days everyone.

Another late check-in for me today, hope you're all ok x

    Today's list/tasks are:

    - Check online banking
    - Check onepoll (2 surveys done, now halfway, woohoo!)
    - Superpoints clicks
    - Packed lunch for work
    - DS in cloth nappies/cloth wipes
    - Laundry on overnight or during the day (not peak times)
    - Free water/tea at work
    - Post ebay bits
    - Charge phone at work
    - Book the cat into the vets
    - Check approved foods for stuff we use

Quite a long list today but I've done most of them already. Also, not sure why I've not put down DS's nappies before - they're pretty MSE!

Hello, I'm a bit of a newbie to this list but I'm finding the Grocery Challenge really really motivating so thought I'd try and keep up with two!

    So today:
    1. Checked bank balances and set up the SO to the credit card
    2. Got scared by the sudden increase in our gas and electricity DD!
    3. Changed our gas and electricity supplier to reduce this.
    4. Got onto Virgin to find out exactly what we're paying for (and maybe change to Talk Talk? Any good?!)
    5. Drove really sensibly to and from work - who knew 10mph slower would mean I get 60miles more from the tank and much less stress?
    6. Making meals from the stores tonight.
    7. Resisted the mid morning bacon butty so...
    8. HAD A NSD! Yay!

    • All the towels drying on line, at long last Devon has some sun!
    • PAD
    • Chicken curry for dinner, can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to it. DH makes the best curries IMHO!
    • Heating off, back door open.
    • NSD (she reported, cartwheeling across kitchen):j
    • Must put bread maker on or grumpy faces in the morning.
    • Got the magazine voucher from clubcard for DH favourite music mag so must post that off to stop him getting tempted.
Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.:D

absolutely taking the pee Candy. If it were me I would sack it off, let them have it - galling I know but the stress of it isn't worth £150. And personally paying £150 is a small price to know you can't trust someone - you could have lent them a lot more! x

    Hi all

Just dropping in before I file and start OUing!

Candy - it would frustrate me too, I owed money to my mom for a while and hated every second of it, and paid her back as quickly as possible.
SallyBunny - know what you mean ref your no5 - and it takes no longer!!!
Wannabe and Carrielovesfanta - sympathies on your OHs!
BT - hope you're feeling better now!

Also tried on a parcel full of clothes from New Look and BHS that were delivered today - all bar £14 of my £47 New Look order's going back, and all bar £22 (maybe) of the £98 BHS order will be returned - and that's only if the shoes don't make me taller than my OH!

I also received an Ebay item with an unfranked stamp. Woop!

And, drumroll - an NSD! My first in aaaages!

    Have a great evening all!

Candy, I totally agree with DNMS although you also know the problems I've been through recently - I couldnt let it go because a) I really couldnt afford to b) it had been going on since September and c) she wasnt family.
