Can anyone enlighten me on whether this deal is any good, also to a certain extent futureproof for the next few years.

also regarding the graphics card, would I be better off with a ATI 9600 PRO 128mb card instead?
Thanks people for your time in advance.

Hi
The Specs are OK, a bit last year really! but for £700 you should have at least a TFT monitor.
New motherboards use PCI express so a better graphic card/ motherboard would be worth checking out.
Hope this helps a bit... I could offer more advice if you PM me0 -

This is a poor deal.
It's possible to get better specs for less.

I would say the HD could be bigger - also should have at least 2 more USB2 ports ideally front bay access. Yes, and TFT.0

Thanks for the advice, what would you recommend then instead? I do have a budget of around £700.
Also what do you think of this deal?

I am no fan of Mesh customer services but the suggestion earlier would offer far better value. Although you get to take it way immediately, the high st stores just can't compete with specialised mail order vendors. unless you are forrtunate and can get one of the Aldi/LIDL type offers but often without screen. which you buy separately . With the Mesh, You could pay a little extra to upgrade to 17 TFT. Though remember delivery is £39 + vat.0

Mesh are cheap, but their Customer Services leave a lot to be desired. If you don't have any problems with them then great, but if you do then expect a lot of hassle.

Can I just say that for every person who has a problem with Mesh (and I know there are some) there is also a person who's had good service.
I've bought 3 PC's over the last 4 years from Mesh and not had too much trouble. If I need technical help I look for the saynoto0870 number and use 18866 to call them so it costs me a 1p connection charge and that's it, no matter how long I'm on the phone for.
My last order contained 2 tft monitors which come with their own dvi cables, but I didn't realise this, so I included 2 cables in with my order. Needless to say I didn't need them so Mesh told me to return and they would refund AND pay the return postage costs. Due to a mix-up in communication, the postage costs (£4.05) were not refunded so I called them to politely complain and was sent £30 of vouchers as an apology.
I'm not saying they always show such good PR, but Dell, Packard Bell, Evesham and the rest all have their share of complaints too.
Base your decision on the computer spec more than anything else.
Hope you find something suitable.Herman - MP for all!

Thanks everyone for your advice, do I really need 1GB of memory or is 512mb big enough, the same goes with the graphics card will 128mb be enough if its the right type? And what is the right type?
