When I went from Join to single it was instant, done over the phone no paperwork.

However when I went from Single to Joint it took them 3 weeks just to send me the forms then after I sent them off it took another 16 weeks before they sorted out my money and I didn't get any back pay.

Hope its all sorted for you soon hun

Yes but it depends on what your change of circumstances were. Don't forget if you were already getting ctc then the payment for this week may well have already been authorised/issued as normal before you phoned. Sometimes if you are struggeling then if you phone and let them know they can authorise a payment, years ago when i first claimed ctc and was waiting ages for it to be sorted they said they could authorise a payment and i would have to collect it from the Inland Revenue office(i never bothered) though this could have changed plus they were probably fed up with me phoning them.

What was the change? Presumably you have gone from a couple to a single person........? If so then the new claim should have been done over the phone...........unless you didn't inform the change straight away?
