Dream Interpretation - just for fun

Hi there
Hubby and I split up about a year ago and i've been struggling on as a single mum to my two girls. Anyway, recently ive been having some quite vivid dreams which have sometimes involved him (all clean by the way).
So, i'm going to explain my dream last night and see if anyone can come up with a good interpretation for me.
The dream goes as follows: For some unknown reason hubby had moved back in with us for a couple of days. I wasn't particularly happy about this but had allowed it to happen for the sake of the girls. Anyway, after about a week, he still hadn't left and i'd gone past being civil and asked him to leave. He wasn't particularly happy about this so (and this is the weird bit), he picked up a medium sized spider and threw it at me. Now we are both terrified of spiders so there's no way in real life he would just pick it up. For some reason the size of the spider is significant as I specifically remember thinking that in the dream.

So any ideas??

I do tend to have strange dreams. I had one last week where I could only open one of my eyes??

I am a lone parent also. My ex used to appear in my dreams too. It is your mind processing how you feel about the relationship. So in your dream the ex moves back in and you dont feel too happy about it - a sign that you have no real desire to get back with him and are moving on from the relationship. You did this in your dream for your girls - this suggests to me a hope to maintain a good relationship between them and him. You decided after a bit to tell him to leave - another good sign that you feel able to stand up to him and express your feelings. He wasn't happy with this but rather than things turning nasty in your dream he picked up a MEDIUM spider. I think size means something in this case to. Any problems or angst between you aren't huge now and can be managed. Some things that he says or does surprises you and makes you ask questions. Hope that interpratation helps.

I dreamt the other night that my ex was screaming and shouting at me just as he used to. I could hear his voice in my dream just as it always was. Instead of getting upset in my dream I laughed at him. At this point he went blue, looked like he was about to choke and then all his teeth fell out. Apparently dreams about loosing teeth indicate money problems. Hopefully for him and not me considering they were his teeth falling out of his head! :D

    This bit does yes:
"You feel that someone or some situation is sucking the life right out of you".
I wonder why the size is significant though.

Hey this is pretty spot on (did you read my previous thread):rotfl:The problems between us are pretty big because it involves our eldest daughter who refuses to see him. He makes no effort to see her which I find really difficult to cope with.

I've had pretty severe money worries over the last few years and used to dream that all my teeth fell out BUT they would stay in my mouth and rattle around so I couldn't make myself understood by anyone. I would literally have a mouth full of teeth.

if you put the spider with this about the ex does it make any more sense?

I don't think that the size is significant as such. What is significant to me is that you could see attributes of the spider beyond its spideryness. It is a kind of rehearsal of what could happen - in that if your OH were to throw some situation at you over which there is some shared history, [not saying that he actually would - just if he did] that you might look at it with new eyes.

I don't buy that one. I am with 4LC. WW123 is just laying down in her own mind the behaviours which go with where she now sees her relationship with ex OH

I am taking a bit of a guess here and think that you have been struggling to deal with the relationship breakdown between your ex and your child. You cant make sense of it all and possibly emotionally it is very hard to face and tackle head on right now. As if you try to put alot of effort in making it work for them but not understanding eithers approach.

When we sleep we completely relax and our thought processes are not restricted by anxiety or stress. So our minds can explore our feelings and emotions. I think the spider incident highlights traits in your ex that you never thought were there. You would not have believed he could pick up a spider, the same as you now cant believe he does not bother with your child. He has thrown the spider at you in the dream just as this whole uncomfy situation in your day to day life has been thrown at you. I hope things can be resolved in time.

I'll comment if you start a new thread. I don't want to be mixing comments on two very different personal dreams on the 1 thread - it does neither of you much favours.

Thanks - good idea - will do!
