PPI Claim confusion, Help?

    Perhaps I should apologise for my last comment which I will admit was somewhat sarcastic and made a few days ago when I wasn't very well and just couldn't be bothered with any of it. I would point out (confirmed in my avatar) that I am a new member on here and asked what I thought was a legitimate question and I seem to be met with "attitude". If I am wrong about this feel free to say so but I was seeking help and advice, about my PPI claim, I gave quite a lot of information and felt I was being talked out of making the claim at all, which is not what I expected this site to be about. I thought this was a consumer site where people could get advice from others who had more knowledge than the average person and would help them to legally get what they are entitled to.
    Anyway despite what was said, Direct Line have settled my claim in the last few days, so there is no point having any further discussion about this part of the claim. I am still interesed in the Clydesdale Bank part, over 7 years old, loan paid off some time ago and I have no paperwork at all. Clydesdale added every possible extra charge into this loan as it was my first mortgage, I nenver dealt with the same person twice and frequently got conflicting advice but I was always told all the charges etc were compulsory. Do I have any chance of moving a claim forward, say by using the standard letter suggested above or should I just forget it?

    Still wondering about this, copied from first post above;
    "I used the standard letter to try to get copies of my paperwork and thoughtI would have ago myself. I sent a £1 cheque but the response I got was this; THey said they couldn't do anything as the loan had been repaid in full and therefore there was no agreement in place under the CCA. They said that under the act subsection 3 staes that subsection 1 does not apply to "an agreement under which no sum is, or will or may become, payable by a debtor" and from this, which I don't understand in the slightest, they say they cannot pursue my claim any further and they kept my £1 and gave me no paperwork."

    This is the Clydesdale Bank one and due to the length of time since it was active, is it feasible to pursue a claim, when I have no paperwork, would the SAR letter work?

    Thanks, Wully :)

    I gave you the answer to your question at post #5.
