Weeds... weeds everywhere!
My lawn is a mess. Last year there were a few weeds, but I left it too late to treat it - it wasn't too bad, if I kept on top of things and mowed it at least once a fortnight (usually more often) it'd be fine
This year however, the grass is not so much /|/|/|/|/|/| as it is /O|\oq|/@
Can anyone please recommend the best (and hopefully easiest!) way of treating my lawn so it looks more respectable again?
I guess I need some sort of weed killer and grass feed?
Thanks

A weedy lawn indicates it needs a good feed or two - so don't even think about weed killer yet. - Once it has got some strength in it will smother a lot of the smaller weeds itself.
Mow it little and often - every five days or so when it's actively growing. (Sounds odd but little and often is lighter work and not as time-consuming or as exhausting as less regular cutting).
Alternate the cutting direction each time its cut (promotes even healthy grass growth to smother the weeds).
Once the grass is growing well identify what the weeds are then choose your weed killer. - But good luck on finding a truly effective one personally the most effective and long-term (i.e. clear for a year) method is to dig them out - Daisy grubber for the small ones and an old carving knife for dandelions.0 -

Thanks Suzy, will wait until the weather clears up a bit and start a regular routine of mowing it and trying to sort the weeds0
