hello

My phone keeps popping up an icon telling me 'Low on space, phone storage space is getting low'

I have deleted almost everything off my phone, all photos, videos, nearly all my text messages, internet history - everything i can think of - yet I am still receiving this message. I do not receive texts while the little icon pops up.

Can anybody please help?

Thanks in advance. :)

Do you have a microSD card in your phone?
Also, do you have the Facebook app on your phone?

    Hello

Yes I have what I think is the microSD card, and the phone has the face app already installed, i cannot seem to delete it. I have deleted all but 1 app from my phone ( that the phone will allow me to delete) Some things seem to be programmed into the phone when i got it, and unable to delete. Odd though, when i first got the phone, I had lots of apps etc....and now i have only 1 and have deleted everything I think I can and it still tells me i'm low on space!

Not sure which Xperia you have, but on my x8 if you go to Menu, Settings, Applications, Manage Applications it gives a list of apps and the memory it uses.

If you use internet on the mobile another source could be that your memory is filled with your internet history. If you clear your internet history that willl remove that annoying sign!

If you are really desperate, you could root your phone and install a higher android version, which allows saving of apps onto the memory card. (I personally am not sure how reliably this can be done...)

2 things which probably will help

    1) App2SD is free from Android Market - yourun it, and it goes through all your apps and sees if they can be moved to the SD card (many can), then makes it easy to do so. Then it keeps an eye on new apps you install too.

    2) Clear the browser cache and possibly the google maps cache. It'll feel like a new phone.

In fact, try doing 2) first, so there is space to install 1) :)

    Settings
    Applications
    Running Services
then stop all the running services and the available RAM will increase, re-power the handset and it will be as quick as new.

If you click on the flashing icon it should list all the apps installed and will allow you to move some to SD card ..If for whatever reason your card is full ..I would say buy a bigger one ..cheap as chips and a class 10 will really help with video and photos.
Just done this with and experia arc s ..much better now

I'm assuming you have an Xperia X8 as they have a pityfull amount of internal storage.

Also I think that they only had Android 2.1 which only allowed apps to be installed on phone internal storage so if you've dowloaded a few apps from Android Market its possible, even likely that you're going to run out of memory.

You can install a file manager and ensure that all picures/music/custom ringtones etc are moved to SD card.

If its the apps using the memory only option is to root the phone and install an unofficial custom 2.2 ROM which will allow you to transfer apps onto the SD card. On the XDA Developers website they describe you to update the stanadard ROM to a hybrid 2.2/2.3 ROM nicknamed by them as Froyobread which runs stable with the Xperia X8.
