Santander horror stories worrying us ?!

Just had our mortgage approved from Santander today.

Applied with our IFA on the 18th April, got the AIP that day. Santander asked for extra wage slips from me, wanted 3 months worth and IFA only copied previous 6 weeks (I get paid weekly). They booked the survey on the 25th April for the 2nd of May and we received our mortgage approval today. :j

So a +1 for Santander!

I got an AIP with Santander back in march, they requested 3 months payslips which I provided. To cut a long story short after 4 weeks they were still asking for stuff (stuff I'd provided and one thing 3 times!) then they asked for something I couldn't physically provide (my tax credit award for this year)

So I jacked them off and had an AIP from Halifax and a full offer once survey was done in 6 days.

Grrr! We're still waiting. 9 weeks in now. Apparently we'll "definitely" have an answer by the end of Thurs, which would be a day off 10 weeks.

Out of interest, those people who've had offers through, how long are they valid for? We've had to start from scratch with a new buyer for the sale of our current house - it would be sod's law if, after all this waiting, the offer expired before we were all ready to exchange!
