Body Butter for Eczema

I have used E45 for years on my eczema prone sensitive skin but am wondering if body butters will be as effective, such as the Body Shop aloe vera one. I just fancy using something a bit different but effective for my skin. I know that body butter isn't an emolient. Does anyone else use this?

Lush's Dream Cream gets lots of rave reviews from people with eczema - have you tried it? I quite liked it, although I don't have eczema (just dry skin). I do love the Body Shop body butters but are you sensitive to fragrances?0

I got some to try but find them very highly fragranced and quite stingy on mine and dd's eczema. I don't use e45 or any other petroleum based products and have found the best for dd is a plain body butter made just from shea and cocoa butters, no fragrance and no colour - was made by a freind who makes 'natural' bath stuffPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

A couple of friends with skin problems swear by Aveeno. It's a little more expensive than E45 but is often on offer. I think there might be a third off at Superdrug at the minute.0

Hi
I use Cetraben from the GP which I find great. It contains glycerine which helps keep moisture in. You can get it on prescription but think you may also be able to buy it over the counter. The other thing I use is the Vaseline intensive relief, the white one with blue writing. I also use that on my face ok.

My two little boys were covered in eczema when they were tiny. They are now completely clear of it. The Body Shops hemp body butter worked wonders for my eldest. It was like a miracle cream for him. For my youngest the only cream that worked was Aveeno. We used the bath lotion and moisturising lotion and in 6 months he went from having it head to toe really severely to no sign of it at all. You can get your gp to give Aveeno on prescription also. Hope this helps some.Intellectuals solve problems, geniuses prevent them ~ Albert Einstein0

I found the body butters too highly scented, the hemp stuff was great for a while then I started getting dermatitis from it, came out in tiny blisters all over my hands. Aveeno was great then stopped working so well. At the moment the Neutrogena Norwegian formula sensitive one is working wonders both on my daughters & my skin. (fingers X'd)Booo!!!0

There's also an Aveeno Baby and an Aveeno Eczema therapy range which isnt widely available in this country - the regular Aveeno cream that you can buy in boots or via prescription is a lighter emmolient whereas the Aveeno baby is heavier and the eczema therapy has some kinda of active oat ingrediant - i buy mine from soft-skin.co.ukSnootchie Bootchies!0

Thank you for your replies. The Body Shop aloe body butter is unscented like the face range. I'm just wondering if its ok with not being like E45.0
