Travelodge advise please?

Hi All,

Was wondering if any of you kind folk could advise whether Travelodge will change a booking (from 1 adult to 2 adults- family room booked ), without charging silly money.
Short story is DH has booked to take me away a week on Fri, to celebrate my birthday.
This was meant to be a surprise,( he's taken the night off work, & tried to do the booking alone, bless him!!:A) He is not very computer savvy , if you get my drift!!. Unfortunately he accidently didn't change the default setting from 1 adult to 2 !!
I'm just a bit bothered if i don't contact them we may have a problem on arrival- & i'd hate for this to spoil the day, especially as he's gone to so much trouble.
Thanks in advance for any advice offered.:)

Ive done it on a few occasions to be honest, just mention it when you book in, the room is bought, so as long as there are not more people than beds they wont bother.

Have a lovely time, nice man you have there.........
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

    Hi
    Thanks for your reply.
Firstly, sorry for not replying earlier, but I've been away from the p.c for a while.
I was thinking of this, but didn't want any potential problems,
especially as OH has gone to so much trouble ( outside his comfort zone ) to arrange this.
I would hate for anything to spoil it, as OH would be so upset.

it will be fine - you will already have the bedding etc all set up in the room for 2 adults, its no different from one adult. Enjoy your night away :).

    Hi
    Sorry for the late reply!!
This is what I was wanting to hear.
We have stayed at the same TL on several occasions, as its far enough away from home to feel as if we've been away, but not too far to waste too much time travelling! ( Wetherspoons next door one way, Coffee shop & Tesco Express, for 'bed picnic' supplies, the other side!):j
Never had any probs with them before, so didn't want to risk any this time!
Last year's birthday was a non-event, as I'd recently lost my mum,( very suddenly ), & was still in shock. Christmas was pretty miserable, for the above reason, plus the day before christmas eve, ( no alcohol involved, honest!!) I fell & broke my ankle.:(
I was laid up for the whole festive season, and obviously well into the New Year!!
I think this is why OH is determined to spoil me!
Thank you for your kind wishes McKneff, & yes, I agree, OH:A is definitely very special & I count myself very, very lucky!!

OOh, sorry went off on a bit of a ramble there!!

Their website FAQ explicitly says that this is fine. It says to mention it when you arrive as there may only be one towel etc. in the room if you booked for 1 rather than 2 (or 3, or 4).

I think nadalia means that it would be a problem if you'd booked too small a room. Obviously if you booked a double when you needed a family one, it MIGHT be a problem. (Although every Travelodge I've stayed in, the rooms have been family anyway even if I only booked a double. Possibly at some of the larger ones they have some rooms which do NOT have space for two children.)
