Hi All,

How long do you have to wait to reapply for a current account once closed?

I have recently closed my current account with First Direct but thinking about reapply and unsure if they will reject me if it's too soon.

Shall I wait 6 months to be on the safe side. Plus I've heard FD are difficult to get an account with.

Any bank is difficult if you have past history of bad debt, if 10 people now applied for say an MBNA credit card and they all come on here and say they were declined then other posters will then assume MBNA are strict in dishing out credit, it works both ways.

Its up to you but why not just ring them and explain the situation.

    Who actually closed the account?
If it was FD they may not want you back.
If it was you there should be no problem as long as you are the type of customer they are looking for.
