Virgin/MBNA Credit Card PPI

Options
Hi all,

I currently have a Virgin Mastercard CC for roughly 3 years give or take, what I am asking is, does anybody remember what the charge was they had on the card ? Im certain I had a PPI on which charged say 10% of the balance or similar, if I had £1000 on the card the repayment would be £100 PPI plus at least the minimum payment per month, I have always been self employed and am currently trying to seek out all financial agreements I had to see if anything was missold to me, simply because being Self Employed the cover was to protect my repayments but I cannot lose my job, nor get sick pay so the cover would not have activated for me, I removed the PPI myself after about 6 months of my eyes poppinf out of my head when the statement came through the post.

Anybody have similar cases ? Remember the name they use for the PPI ? Or reclaimed on it ?

Thanks guys n gals .

It would have been around 1% or less. Most PPI were around 80-90p per £100 in my experience. Certainly not 10%.

Yeah that sounds more likely zx81 , thanks for posting, it could have been £1 per £100 perhaps I think it was actually, £10 per £1000 and i seem to remember a charge of £44 PPI on a £4400 credit.

    Thanks for the refresh.

Yup, should be. MBNA pay out pretty easily from what I hear. There's a form on their website.

I googled MBNA PPI reclaim before and read a poor lads story called Oggy I think, have a look, it put the jeepers up me they sound a right awful bunch, but I guess they aint gonna give money away to everyone so theyll rightfully fight any case they deem winnable.

Ive spoken to Virgin Cards and they are sending my query to the Insurance team to see so ill see what info i get back and post what reply i get, cheers matey
  • Update : I reclaimed on my PPi simply by telling an online advisor I was unhappy with the PPi i had, I got a letter 2 weeks later saying it was being investigated, 2 weeks after that another letter saying it was being further investigated then a letter to say my claim was being upheld and £771.00 refunded by cheque to me, really happy, no questionairres, no CMC used, all myself with help off here and money for something I never knew I could reclaim.
