I live in Hertfordshire and really dont fancy driving miles just to get replacment knobs

Have you any idea who made them as maybe you could email them direct and request a replacement handle. It may be worth contacting the department store you bought them at who may have the manufacturers address or even google it.

First how broken are the originals - could they be mended? I've got a couple of glass lidded pans and can't quite envisage how the handles could get broken.
If I had to change my pan lid knobs I'd be tempted to go to B&Q and buy a nice looking drawer/cupboard handle and put that on - with a rubber washer above and below the glass surface to avoid screwing metal on to the glass? You could change the whole set if having things all the same is important"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0 -
For guess I'd say that if you looked up any saucepan manufacturer, and they supply replacements knobs, as long as you pick suitable sizes they'll fit your own pans.
The differences are not likely to be in the screw size, but the curvature of the lid.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Do you have a local ironmonger's shop - the one where they sell everything? Might be worth taking the lid in and see what they suggest. They might even fix it for you.0

I have no idea and as they were a wedding present from a few years agoi I cant remember who bought them let alone from where:o
Easy to break the knob off a saucepan lid if they are they that brittle sort of plastic if the lids get dropped on the top the handle/knob they then shatter leaving no knob (and burnt fingers if you try and use it anyway  ) oh and of course if you have a teenager doing the washing up!
Better take a look at B&Q I suppose mind you its probably cheaper to get a new set of pans as 4 knobs plus rubber washers will cost about £8-10 and I can get a new set from M&S (with my mums discount) for £8 ! just trying to save money I guess.:oSmile laugh love & live

Why don't you keep an eye open at boot sales - you might find a set of tired out old pans and be able to buy them for the knobs, or alternatively buy a pack of knobs.
Like you say though, you can pick up such bargains now, by the time you have bought replacement knobs, you will have paid out almost as much.
It does seem a shame though....Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Might just stash them away with the xmas decs in the loft so I can drag them out to use at xmas when I never seem to have enough pans lolSmile laugh love & live

As a temporary measure could you use a cork as a handle (the kind you get in champagne bottles are good
)?

My knobs have long since dropped off:eek: :rotfl: on my 40 year old skyline pans but I woudn't change them for the world. I jemmy the lid up with a well placed butter spreader and then lift it off with a pair of kitchen tongues. I reckon handles are for wimps;)
(or those toooo tight to ever buy new pans) LOL
