As I said, I am not very technical... but what I did was buy a d sub cable.
I connected that to the back of the laptop & TV.
Then the footery bit was playing with display settings on laptop. Right click on desktop go to properties then settings tab/advanced/displays. I just made some new schemes till one worked!! (on the settings tab & displays) If I remember right the TV is not TV on the display tab, it's the monitor.
God, hope that makes a bit of sense? PM me if you want, if there is anything else, I "might" be able to help with.
PIP is picture in picture, but not tried it yet. But would be fantastic if it worked!0 -

I was reading your post, and i think you might be looking at this the wrong way around, look for an LCD, or TFT monitor, for example http://microdirect.com/(16674)19-Edge-10-W190DVI-Widescreen-TFT-Monitor.aspx, and get a tv card for your laptop, also means you can set your laptop to record the tv and watch it later, get a decent arial, also if your have a battery powered tv then you don;t need to buy a tv license, if you get a knock at the door, just unplug the laptop from the wall and bang no need for a tv license
. Save you some cash.
microdirect.com, amazon.co.uk, dabs.com, pricerunner.co.uk etc are all good sites to find cheap deals.0
