It is also my understanding that letters are being issued by boards on Mon 28th to arrive on Tues 29th May and I think all boards usually post out their letters on the same day so that everyone in NI receives their letters on the same date.

It has been quiet on here. Good luck everyone - it won't be long now:)

Out of interest what schools are u all hoping for, we r praying for grosvenor.

I am hoping my daughter gets into Victoria or Hunterhouse. Victoria is her first choice but secretly I've been rooting for Hunterhouse:-P old pupil of the school myself! However, in all honesty I have to be honest with myself and her it will most likely be her third and final choice girls model as her score is quite low:-(

Best of luck for Grosvenor - hopefully the cut off will be lower this year as it jumped to 104 last yr but was only 92 the yr before.

Don't know what your DD's score is but I know my friend's daughter got into Victoria last year with 90 (even though the Bel Tel said the lowest score accepted was 91) and they went down to 88 the yr before so fingers crossed for you and yours

Dd has 91 and 219 (c1) according to Victoria her gl result ranks higher! Did your friends daughter have sc or board?

No SC. They were intending to go for boarding because they thought that would be the only way to get her in but they didn't have to do this in the end. For Victoria to say that a C1 ranks higher than 91 in AQE just highlights the ridiculously uneven wayVictoria is trying to balance up 2 totally different tests - and hence the reason why most schools refuse to do this. What they are basically telling you is that if you placed all candidate results for GL in rank order and did the same for all candidates in AQE, then your daughter's rank order is higher in GL than in AQE - this demonstrates what many people have said over the past 2yrs ie: that the GL test is easier than the AQE

My daughter was the only one in her class who applied for the gl, she never completed a practice paper before the test! She said she found it harder than aqe because of the timing and the amount of reading involves in the English paper! Maybe if she had of practiced this it would have made a difference to her opinion! I am very proud that she achieved a c1 in gl as it was something she did off her own back! I know kids who had this test hammered into them and did not do aqe as well and didn't do as well as her! On the day she actually said "I've failed that mum"

Your DD has done well. It can't have been easy for her (or any kid) to do all 5 tests. I'd be pretty hopeful she'll get into the Vic but Hunterhouse is also quite possible. Slightly fewer children sat the transfer tests in Nov/Dec 2011 than in the previous year so that may help too. Fingers crossed for yous.
