Yes - can't send from Halifax to Santander. Tried with my account and partner's account. Both not working and both are transfers which have been made several times before.

I just made a payment from RBS to AMEX - no problem. Maybe it's Santander...

Yes, seems likely - I searched based on waiting over an hour for a Santander to Nationwide payment! I hate Santander! Seriously considering Halifax.

EDIT: Yet I did receive a standing order via FP from my wife today (likely just after midnight). The joys of Santander!

EDIT2: Right, Santander to NW - deducted from balance, not through! Santander to Halifax - deducted from balance, not through! Halifax back to Santander - deducted from balance, showed success, not through!

Can't send from Lloyds (same bank to Halifax) or HSBC to Santander. So Santander seems to be the affected one.

Got a reply from Santander - no admission of fault, let alone apology:
I would advise however that a Faster payment is not a guaranteed same day payment.
Not much is guaranteed with Santander (except bad CS & charges). The last company I heard treating customers like this was Royal Mail (I can still hear the shocking line "1st class mail is not a guaranteed service" that they always parroted out) and we all know how well they are doing...

    Halifax here I come!

Paid my wife's 2 storecards via halifax on Saturday morning, was going through as faster payment and then rejected, payment then moved to Monday. Started getting arrears calls Monday evening, phoned their Asian call centre where we were told it was a Bank holiday weekend so no payments going through, also advised of default charge for late payment, operator couldn't refund it, on asking for supervisor, wife was hung up on. Speaking to Halifax this morning, they confirm Faster Payment was processed but Santander rejected the transfer, how many people will have default charges applied?

I don't understand your post, what dates are you talking about? The last time there was a bank holiday Monday was April 9th, so why are you discussing this with Halifax now and not then?

Faster payment made from Halifax account to 2 x Santander store cards on Saturday 28th, not accepted on faster payment by Santander, therefore hit with late payment charges.
Halifax confirm they attempted to pay by Faster Payment, Santander bounced the payment.
