Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 28th April. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning

Morning Bargainbird and all who follow. Lashing down here at the moment and our garden is flooding:eek: Jack and I had a very short walk and I'm still wet. Freezer roulette for tea got paid yesterday but can't do big shop until the weekend, so have to finish off what's in the freezer.
Hugs to all in need esp. MM Jools PP Lou and LW. Sistercas hope your DD is feeling better.
Well better float off to school I expect the roads will be wet. Have a good day all.:)£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund
Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.

Morning everyone
Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Dark, gloomy, overcast and raining again. DH up and off to work stupid early. Work was busy but not horrendous yesterday. Today could be worse as it's the 1st of the month!
Dinner last night was smoked sausage and mushroom pasta with a creme fraiche sauce - delish - haven't had that for a while. Tonight we will be having fish, chips/jacket pot, beans/veg - hairdresser is coming tonight so everything will be a bit delayed, menfolk are desperate for haircuts and I so need to be re-blonded!
Menu plan sort of done, have an idea what we're having tonight and tomorrow night, Thursday is DS2's birthday and he has requested HM pizza, and an early dinner, DH eats pizza but wouldn't want it as a meal after work IYSWIM, so he and I will have something different. We're going away Friday night for the BH weekend, so will be feeding the boys and myself before we go and taking something for DH to have once we arrive.
Had a NSD yesterday and today should be the same.
Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

Good Morning All
BB - hope you get DH to the docs.
It has rained heavily all night here too, still raining now.
Today am dropping DD at college, treating myself to a posh coffee and popping into the discount shop for a few bits. This afternoon will be in my office.
Need to look in the freezer for dinner tonight, DD finishes late today and she is having tuna and cheese toasted pitta.
Nothing much else to report, not much you can do with this horrible weather.
Hope you all keep dry, (((hugs))) wherever needed.x0 -
Morning All,
I'm back from Cumbria and York. Had a fab time with DS and DDIL. Went to York on Thurs, what a great place. Got to go back again!:T
Lake District is gorgeous too, can certainly see why DS loves living there!
Went to see DD and DGD yesterday. Having little one tomorrow, she will be going to Nursery next month, so won't see her so often:o
Saw my Dad too. Got to get down to sorting out a letter to the NHS, as I am sure he should be funded by the NHS, he meets 80% of the criteria:eek:
Lady from Council coming to check my finances this morning. Council currently paying for my Lifeline. I don't mind paying myself, but she has to check. Got nothing to hide, you can have £23,000 before you have to pay (I wish!:rotfl:)
(((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))) to those who need them.
Weight and BP going down:T
Not sure what dinner will be, something veggie I think.....
Have a good day all!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

:eek:BB- men! They sneeze and think they're dying, anything more serious and its an afterthought!
Lengthy chat has been had, time will tell but he will not be taking the mickey again in a hurry!
Washing mountain gradually shrinking, sunny when I got up but sky none too promising at present so will see how much dries outside! Fridge is empty so will need to raid Mr M's on the way home from the bank, then finish the blitz of the house!
Have a good day all!RIP Iain

Another day of work. Trying my new plan of 2 hours each for the different parts of my job as i keep letting one (or two!) of them slip which was getting very stressful. We'll see if this works any better. In truth we're all far too busy. SMT have recognised this at last and we have 2 new lecturers starting :T but not till august 1st earliest. Lunch will be leftovers from last night :money: band practice tonight and must find council tax red bill. Well rain here again:( Perpetual smell of wet doggy.
Hope you all have a good day xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
