Opinions on the Mitsubishi Colt Clear Tec 1.3ltr - owners advice please!
Evening
I am looking to buy either a Mitsubish Colt Clear Tec or a Mazda 2. The latter is obviously a much better looking car but the spec on the former is better.
I just wanted to get some opinions from people who have driven the Colt Clear Tec - how it drives (esp on motorways), comparisions to other superminis (esp the Mazda 2), achievable MPG, thoughts on the interior??
I have found one for £7000, 2010, 7800miles on the clock. For the same price in the Mazda 2 the car is a year older and has at least twice as many miles (obviously a more desirable car).
You don't see many colts on the road - the reason being?
I will be putting on at least 16000 miles per year on the clock so the low mileage colt is really tempting.
Thanks in advance for helpful and plentiful replies!!!

I to have been looking at both these cars, and vauxhall corsa. my uncle had a colt as his first disability car 3 years ago, after a amputation, and think's it a great little car, (he know uses a landrover easier for his mobility) and he is bit of a petrol head. I test drove a colt and found quite hard suspension, but think at 8 months pregnant I can feel every bump in road. the guy at garage did say that new colts are over priced and second hand ones are far better value. and Ive seen quite a few on road since test drive.
on mazda 2. much nicer looking car very sporty, i'm yet to test drive, but parents have mazda and know they more luxouruios than the colt. although there is big differnce in insurance groups.Making small changes, hoping they will last....0 -
The 1.3 Engine in the Colt isn't great, the 1.1 is a far better engine.
There arn't many Colts about because
a) not many dealers
b) it's not a brand that many people know about
c) it's getting on a little bit now, an 8 year old design
d) visibility due to the A posts isn't great
Positive reasons to buy, the 1.1 is brilliant, the MPG is good, it has more space that any other car in class, the boot is small though.
Only buy Colts at the right price. And the right price is 7k for a new 1.1 or 6k for a very nearly new one. If I fitted in a Mazda 2 (I don't) I'd buy one, check out the Kia Rio too.0
