Hi Baby A, I looked at the places mentioned above, but found the cheapest to be at https://www.littlewoods.co.uk I bought some cream blinds for my DD 180cm width 160cm drop for £22. Argos £59.99
They do the wooden ones at a great price also.
For extra discount look on the MSE codes page and go through Quidco/Greasypalm etc. Happy Shopping

I bought mine from Ikea. Three or four years later they still look great.

Words of warning though: They trap dust because they have a coarse surface and normal dusting does not get rid of it. I think you'll have this problem with any real wood blinds.

PS Anyone know how to dust them easily?

I close mine so its facing you so its flat, then using a feather duster wipe down,if its really dusty use polish for something to stick too,you will have to wash your windows after though they will covered in polish if your anything like me!
appreciate what you have got x

I got some wooden look ones for my window from dunelm mill and they were great. They are called gold coloured but they look like wooden ones. I bought 3 for my bay window and also got a blind cutter (about £4) to cut them to size and it was really easy and quick to use and was a lovely finish. Only cost £7 for 2 side windows and £18 for the main one. really recommend them.
  • Hello!

Apologies for bumping an old thread (I found it via google) but I've just done an adult ed course on blind making and it's actually really easy even for the lest handy of folk (such as myself). Wood venetians in particular can be very expensive but they're much easier to put together yourself than you might think.

You can actually pick up all the bits in standard sizes you need pretty much anywhere that sells fabric or wood equipment, i.e. Boyes or B&Q. Other than that you just need the pullstring and a small drill bit to make your holes.

I've got the template and instructions so if anyone wants them just pm me your email and I'll send them on.

P.s. each set should take between 1 - 2 hours to complete, maybe a bit longer if you've got a large bay window.
