OMO Miss Linky I love it. But get some sleep zzzzzzzzz
If you are awake let me tell you where there's a will there's a way. Who'd have thought DH and I would have been able to afford our tickets to Oz? I still can't believe we have. I have ebayed everything I can think of, bagged up wardrobes full of unwanted clothes - cash for clothes, cashed in our change jars, even sold some broken/unwanted gold and wooo hooo we've managed itYou will too:)
:T :j
Nanamia I was so very very overjoyed to read this! Well done!!
My Mum told us today what she is buying us for Christmas (and Im getting mine early as its so big lol) :j and MIL has told us we are getting money from her.
I do sort of feel guilty though knowing that for Mum & her BF haven't got much. I spent about £15 for their hamper but probably worth about £25 - 2 cycling mugs, Mum has miniature baileys and some herbal tea, her bf has hot choc sachets, there is a bag of biscuits, some hotel chocolat and some slipper socks for mum too. Should I maybe get a DVD to put in it???Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -

Whilst remaining undecided about whether to wrap all my prezzies yet I thought I'd have a sort out of what I've got....
Thought I had my Dads hamper all sorted ...it's sort of a combination of 3 mini hampers really. One's 'All American', the other 'Best of British' and a third wee one is Transatlantic' so I have:
1. American pretzels
2. American lager
3. USA Country & Western 4 CD box set
4. Baseball glove & ball
5. American spices
6. Photo Frame American superhero ‘Superdad’
1. Union Jack Mug
2. Union Jack folding lunch bag
3. 5 pk British ‘Dad’ socks
4. Jar filled with British sweets
5. Union Jack wallet
6. British Beer
7. British Book
8. 2 British penny chocolate coins
9. Box shortbread (his favourite)
1. AmericanWerewolf in London DVD
2. Book (Translating) English/American
My problem is that the Baseball glove is huge and takes up most of the box - which is good in one way cos the CD's are small but were really expensive.
The Best of British box looks quite naff in comparison - they are all small items and even if I padded it out wouldn't look anywhere as good as the other box. So ideas for a large but cheap present please?
Also only got two items for the Transatlantic (for some reason I thought I had more than this!). Would be happy with just 'bits and bobs' for this so again ideas please??
I should mention that he doesn't drink very often (he has bottles upon bottles of whisky in the loft - a testimony to past gifts); he doesn't smoke apart from a very occasional cigar and his only hobby is shooting (but we've exhausted all presents on that over the past 3 years :rotfl:)
Why are Dads so hard to buy for?Stopped smoking 20th October 2012
This year I will have something that resembles a garden and not a building site!0 -

I was in Poundland today and they had some 'Coca Cola' mugs, looked kind of retro style, might be nice in the 'transatlantic' hamper........:D0 -
Ok I have given in to temptation, I am having one of the fizzy asda candy canes. They are so yummy they may not last lol“I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”

Could I ask everyone to please sign this petition http://www.pop-campaign.co.uk/ to ban glass bottles from late night city centre pubs and clubs. Only takes a few minutes and this amazing lady who sadly lost her husband needs only 2000 more signatures so she has 100,000 to take to London tomorrow! http://www.facebook.com/#!/bottlestopnow?fref=ts Thanks.
Signed
Good luck with the viewing tomorrow.Good enough club member number 140 -
Wish I could wrap gifts now, at least it would be done, but travel to Ireland every Christmas and there is always the possiblity that customs will search the car, which they have done for the past 2 years:(A smile costs little but creates much0

They have a large light up Rudolph with a red shiny nose that is just gorgeous and looks just like the on from the film, bit pricey at £24.99 but I neeeed it! Also had adorable polar bears and the sweetest snowman family that was only £4.99 and I need to get it as it reminded me of me, DS and OH a there was a mummy snowman, daddy snowman and boy snowman.
Im going away for half term so will have loads to catch up on next week, will miss everyone on here but looking forward to loads of christmassy pages to read!Hopefully it will feel all christmassy in Derbyshire as apparently it is going to snow!! Sounds lovely but in reality probably freeeeeezing as we are staying in a caravan! I will be packing extra blankets, hot water bottles, hats, glove and scarves!!
Phew battery on laptop just went mid post but its all still there, didnt fancy writing all that again! Better go as I need to get to the post office, need to wrap up warm first as the temperature has dropped! Im feet are like ice! Good luck with the viewing tomorrow. It was today and went well I think. Possibly doing a swap and we liked her flat and she liked mine so just need to really think hard about it as it will be a whole new area and new school for DS.
P.S In case anyones interested the rudolph socks were a bargain £1 or 2 pairs for £1.50 from Tesco, I found them with the normal novelty socks.'They only had one cow!'0 -
P.P.S Lol Im wearing my new winter boots for the first time and they just look awful! They're so chunky and make my feet look HUGE! Oh well will just have to put up with it unless I want to wear flat pumps and get frostbite on holiday! :rotfl:'They only had one cow!'0
