  • Rosygirl-Have pmed you about Rudolph! That Rudolph DVD is one of my favourite christmas memories, love the songs! :)

I cant remember if Ive said before but a great short christmas film is The Littlest Light on the Christmas Tree. Its only 45 mins long but its a lovely story and I bet you two candy canes and a sprig of holly you'll be singing 'The littlest light on the christmas tree' all night! :D

Before I forget if anyone could spare some time or a gift or two theres a great charity called postpals www.postpals.co.uk where you can send cards/letters/gifts/emails to very poorly children to brighten their day. At christmas they do schemes where you can either be an elf (send a gift/s) or a reindeer. (write to them regularly in the run up to christmas) They also have other themes every month, for example halloween in october. :xmastree:

  • I've just had a very apologetic email from foyles, saying that my order was placed with the US company with no problems, and they are emailing them to find out when it was dispatched...like I said earlier, just very glad I ordered it now and not in December! Especially as it says no where it comes from the us

was just on phone to customer services, spoke to a very nice lady who was very professional, am getting pretty cross now (though not with her, as she is just trying to sort it all out) Seems what I was told 10 days ago is not the case. Ive not been charged yet (not had my statement) as they placed the order fine with US but it hasnt been despatched, she said they place orders only when there is stock and that the order was accepted by the US so it may be they then went out of stock due to other orders form elsewhere, she is going to contact thema nd call me back to elt me know when it's coming out.

Very disappointing as been told 3 different things now, and Ive been purposely waiting in for the post van when it's not even been shipped yet!

Pretty poor service, but will give her a chance to sort it out
  • ok much happier now! :) she did what she said she would do and called me back. Turns out my order delayed by techy glitch (which first person did tell me) and in the meantime the US sold out. Theyve had stock in their warehouse today and are despatching it shortly, she apologised and upgraded it to 1st class delivery to make it a bit quicker.

She handled it so well I'm happy now, hopefully will arrive soon!

Just shows how one person dealing professionally with something can turn it around!

Foyles now £19.50 delivered, still says 'despatched in 5 business days' and nothing about it having to come from the US though

Is that how much they were when you ordered it? Am still debating whether to order it...
 Married my lobster in July 2011

TTC # 2 since Oct 2011 - good things come to those who wait :o

  • I put 'christmas' into Wilkinson's search and managed to get twelve pages to look through

Def second all the comments about the "Better Christmas" app - thank you, it's already making my life a lot easier and saves me having to write in code in my big pad! Already ds has discovered it on my phone and his face was a picture when he found it was password protected - ha ha ha!

I'm still playing about with it and have just got to work out how to swap presents about as I'm also buying presents for my children on behalf on their grandparents/great grandparents etc., and I normally order a load of different presents and then allocate nearer to Christmas so each person is giving a variety of things rather than one grandparent is giving all toys and the other all clothes, plus I have our own that we buy them inc. their stocking, etc.,

You couldn't possibly let me know how to password protect it? :) Thanks x
