Well i have win 8 and playing with google drive. So you can work out that I have a computer for fun. I want a 'cloud' so that I can share documents that can be modified by a brother living a couple of hundred miles away.
At the moment I have Google/ dropbox and skydrive on my machine. The size of data stored does not really concern me at this time.

Will give all a fair workout , but after a long w/e Sky drive seems to be the winner for me.

    Just remember..

"Search giant Google's new consumer service that allows users to store photos, videos, and other digital files in the Internet 'cloud', could allow US law enforcement agencies to access your data, without your knowledge and without the need for a warrant, an expert has claimed

David Asprey, the inventor of one of the first cloud computing services TrendMicro cloud evangelist, said that the terms of use of Google Drive "destroys any expectation of privacy because you license your data to a third party".

"You give Google full right to do whatever they want to do with your data and of course one of those things is to give your information to law enforcement without a subpoena," news.com.au quoted Asprey, as saying.

"By signing up to Google Drive, users give the tech giant a global license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify or create derivative works and to publish, publicly perform and distribute that content," he added."

Actually you NEED to give Google those rights other wise Google Drive would be useless!

You DO know what Google Drive is don't you?

    On-line sharing? sort of

On line high secure storage? Nope

Collaborative on-line storage area where users can let others access and edit documents and files they have stored? Yup!

With Google Drive you can share documents and let others edit them.

So Google requires the rights to "host, store, reproduce, modify or create derivative works and to publish, publicly perform and distribute that content." for the sharing and community editing function to work.

As for letting governments access data they and probably 90% of other companies already have to do that...

Yes i do know - my concern is them being able to use any of your files in any way they see fit, without so much as a by your leave...

EG. taking the photos of your kids and selling them on for profit...

source code for some new project you want to work on with someone else, thanks very much, we'll take that and add that into our own products,

the fact that they dont have to return your data to you if you leave...

mine the content of a word document so could target you with better ads.

plus a hundred other uses that you might not want them to do

So do yourself a huge favour and don't use 'cloud' , some us are less paranoid.
