Cannot post the full details at the moment but the following weekend's HP offer is Beef Mince (I know someone was asking when it was coming back on deal).

Will start new thread first thing in the morn with all the deals.;)
  • I love Lidl, their steak mince is as good as you'll get anywhere, so will try the steak this weekend, might even stretch to a stuffed aubergine. They do a great choc chip brioche too and so if I have to go there it would be a shame not to buy some!

Lidl aubergines are always very good and look like someone polished them :) 37p each is great I can mess around with a recipe I spotted on a blog for vegan aubergine bacon (find real bacon too salty now)
I popped in this morning and bought 3 aubergines, they were really good quality and as another poster pointed out, highly polished. I want to do something different with them that doesn't involve too much oil - any suggestions? Have looked at this site but not much that I haven't tried before that isn't veggie. (It goes w/o saying that whatever is prepared will find its way into my freezer for a future supper ;)).

I got two of the pork joints. I have cooked one already (The pepper type) for sandwiches & I have to say I wish I had bought a lot more of them. I will go back tomorrow to see if they have any left.

went in and got 2 aubergines, 2 packs of milk choccy biccies and there was loads of steak left but not keen on frying steak and no freezer room so didn't bother.

Did find a great deal on cheese though - the vintage cheddar 400g packs are just £1.99 and this is a lovely cheese so got four. They had loads of them. This one should last a few days as not a weekend deal.

Stewed one pack of steak yesterday in a small bottle of cheap red wine, stock and a ton of veg & red lentils, it fed 3 so a good cheap meal and hubby couldn't believe how cheap the meat was as it was so tender. I have two more packs in the freezer. Any one know what's on offer next weekend?

The aubergines are fab - big and very smooth. I used one in a ratatoille with aldis super 6 courgettes and going to make a curry with the other. No steak at ours and didn't fancy the cured pork - wish I'd tried it now for sarnies. Will know for next time!

is there a post for this week - seen the one for 26/27 but not 19/20 May
