Other than perhaps the bank account those are perfectly normal things to arrange when taking out a mortgage, so I cant see how you can describe that as pushy. I assume the adviser arranged the mortgage because that's what you asked him to do. As for "massive" commissions on a building and contents policy or getting you to open a bank account you are joking aren't you. With regards to a decreasing term policy, you are right it is is the cheapest way to cover a repayment mortgage at the start, however the premiums do not decrease on a decreasing term assurance policy, they remain level throughout the term while the cover decreases, which is why many customers prefer a level policy particularly if the policy incudes CI cover.
It strikes me that this is more akin to trying to construct a complaint in the hope of getting a bit of compo rather than seeking recompense for a genuine wrong that has been committed.0
