Regular long-term savings

I'm looking at investing @£200pm. Ultimately the money is for my retirement (I'm 30yrs away) but I want the option of accessing the money in the meantime (unlikely).

I have been looking at funds held within an ISA. Is it possible for me to make regular contributions as opposed to one large annual deposit?

Yes you can set up a regular monthly standing order into an ISA - generally you have to make payments of around £50 minimum - if you use a firm like cofunds you can bundle multiple funds into each year's ISA which should reduce overall risk.

Martin's got an article about buying funds in the savings and investments section of the site which you might find interesting. There are links to discount brokers sites which have loads of info about investing and some good tools to point you towards the types of funds to start off with.
I'd suggest going with a discount broker rather than direct to a fund supermarket, as benood suggests, as I think you'll get better discounts on the initial and annual fees that way.
For £200 per month I'd look at 4 funds for starters and with retirement 30yrs away you can afford to be reasonably adventurous at this stage provided you are prepared to let things ride when the market gets bumpy as it is at the mo.

IanW is right I just said Cofunds as that's what my IFA uses.
