refund car tax back - got to drive back from post office 30 minutes away

From tomorrow we are changing cars. We have sorted out the insurance and my partner is seeing to the tax for the new car and tax refund (2 months, May and June) for the old car on his way home from work. But....

When he fills in the form to get his tax refunded he can also declare sorn. The car is tax until the end of today. But he will then have to drive home without showing a tax disc.

Is this a problem? Show it be a problem?

but you would have to be very unlucky to get stopped in a 30 minutes journey,
providing you don't drive stupidly and even more unlucky to get a nob who will

You won't get a refund for may if you surrender it tomorrow, the 1st. I'd post it back instead, and still get Junes back.

you have to get it postmarked tonight or you wont get mays tax
to do this now you would need to catch the last post in your nearest major city

We just had to buy tax to pick up a car today. Started from the beginning of the month - April - so only 11 months left. Still the good side is it was only £2.50 for the wasted month. I can live with that.
