that was quick!

hi all

in 2010 my DD DLA claim was refused i took it all the way to tribunral with the help of Welfare Rights, we won after a year to the date, my DD was awarded it for 2 years.

This award ran out last week, i recieved a DLA form to fill out it was one of the full forms which as we all know takes days to compleat fully gathering information ect....

I posted it off on a monday, recieved a letter on wednesday as there was a signiture missing, posted that back the same day, 1 week later on the wednesday i recieved a further letter with a descision notice, she has been awarded at the same rate for 5 years, to say i nearly fell over with shock was an unserstatement.

I was expecting yet another fight on my hands, any one else had such a quick decision lately? im waiting for another letter telling me they made a mistake!

Not sure about age rules etc., but is'nt DLA being replaced by PIP in 2013 requiring everyone on DLA to be re-assessed, with the medicals being far more stringent?

Youngest son's last claim took 6 days! They must have looked at it and decided on the day they received the forms.

My flabber was most def gasted.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I expect people still on DLA to be reassessed too, I can't for one minute believe that our government will leave anyone to receive benefits for years without some form of check.

I have been looking throught PIP assesment, i am expecting a reassesment for this between 2013 and 2016, i think i understand it right.

Going of what i have read she will still be entitled but the mobility part is confusing, she is on LRM due to mental illness but the PIP seems to say that she may get the higher rate on PIP, unless i read it compleatly wrong, which knowing me i very well could have!

Either way i know its coming so maybe thats the battle i will have as this DLA renewal seemed to easy, or i was just more organised with my evidence.
