Address for car insurance

One of my daughters has just started a temporary job a few hundred miles from home. She is living on site.
Her car insurance is due for renewal and she is wondering what address she should put. As this is a temporary job (up to 6 months) she is not planning on changing any of her documents (V5, driving licence, bank account, electoral roll etc).
My question is: can she keep her insurance registered at home or should it be the job address? If the latter, will she have to change the V5 and her driving licence?

V5 and driving license are governed by law and no need for them to match the insurance if there is a justified reason as to why not.
You should speak to the insurer in question about the best way to go (and be aware different insurers may give different answers). Some will accept her simply putting where she will be spending most her time in the year (but accept a bit of a fight may happen if there is a claim whilst living at the other address) and some will want her to put her temp address down initially and then change it to the other address if/when she returns (naturally charging an admin fee for doing it)0 -
When I was in a similar situation (V5 and license at 'home' address and car at uni) I was advised by my insurance to insure the car at uni. But each insurer could make up their own rules.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0

All she needs do is tell her insurer where the car is now kept. (ie. the location of the car doesn't have to be the correspondence address used for the policy), then tell them again when she changes job/location.0
