SSP ending - not sure what happens now!

My employer sent me the SSP1 form this morning advising that my SSP will be stopping on 30th May. From what I understand I now have to make a claim for ESA from the Social Security Agency but what does this mean for me in terms of my employment? Its all very confusing!
Any advice would be much appreciated.

That is correct, you now need to claim ESA. It has no effect on your employment.0
