  • We bought a suite from them January last year - end of December the middle section of the 3 seater hit the floor - they came within a week and fixed it - very good job - no complaints.

How can you say, no complaints? Do you find it acceptable that your sofas have broken within one year and two years. Each to their own but I don't consider this hassle free.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE !!! I had nothing but trouble with it .

Your home contents will cover it ...... DONT HAVE CONTENTS COVER ?? Then get your contents insured with Lloyds and go through QUIDCO ....... you will get £120 paid back so your insurance will be not a lot .

Hi, we bought a sofa from them a couple of months ago, i paid cash for it to be told normal delivery is 6-8 weeks i expected longer but was assured that no it would be deffinatley here within the time. I got rid of my old suite and sat on garden furniture for ages, never heard anything so i phoned the store to be told there was a delay with shipping.

So we waited and waited and i said enough is enough i can't sit like a gnome any longer, i asked what the problem is to be told sorry they aren't making that model anymore! I went balastic, i asked then if i could go in store to pick maybe one that was on the floor etc so they agreed. Got there to be spoken to some woman claiming to be a manager who didn't give a toss, i said look you never told me it would be over 12 weeks, i asked what were they going to do, their answer... jack all! Anyway i spoke to some sales guy who was rude, patronising and belittling me. I said there's one for an extra £100 ill have that but they only wanted to give me free delivery which is a ridiculous £50, i refused it and caused a scence, he ended up getting me in tears. I took my reciept and begun to walk out the shop to be stopped by him telling me its HIS property, i said shove it, give me my money back, "oh you'll get a cheque in 3 weeks" so i could't even go elsewhere to buy another one.

My mother in law stepped in along with her mother in law (what a sight we looked lol) and said for him to give me dearer suite and we to still pay delivery. They eventually agreed, my advice is don't pay it at once i would pay it up within the year that way you are covered. I got caught out, they are cowboys, just tread carefully. Once i got my suite i got a phone call 2 weeks later saying they wanted to deliver my original suite which was seemingly discontinued???

    Strange

Good luck in what you pick though

You should have taken the refund! Never going to deal with land of leather again. Warned my father not to buy from there, but the cheap prices just dazzle you into a con.

If you think about it what shop do you know that constantly has a sale, there is no way they could sell a cheap looking suite for £1500 to then reduce it to £500, also if there is a "freebie" what they don't tell you is that it is ordered into shop at some point for you to then collect, what a con.

As I am a recent FTB, I dont know how household insurance works. I have buildings insurance not contents, although this is comething we will be getting soon. Do I get penalised in anyway if I did claim under my house insurance? i.e at renewal time, higher costs etc

Don't go without contents insurance.. it's not worth it if you're broken into/have a fire etc.. could you honestly afford to rebuy everything yourself if anything like that happened?

Chances are, that the contents insurance won't cost that much more if you have it with the same company.

Our insurance for contents for the flat i rented was £19 a month (more than), and now we have a house with buildings and contents insurance, it costs about £25 (barclays). Not a lot really for peace of mind.

I only say this because i had a computer stolen once when somebody broke into my flat and i didn't have home insurance at the time.. i'd not gotten around to getting it. My point being, don't wait for something to happen before insuring yourself against it.

Oh and we have a Land Of Leather sofa, not even out of it's wrapper yet as we're decorating still but we didn't take the extra insurance on it - it's what we have contents insurance for and that doesn't run out in 5 years. xx

Make sure you unpack everything or get the delivery guys to unpack everything and inspect it carefully. I unpacked my 3 piece suite 1 month after delivery as we were still redecorating and lo and behold found the material on the underside all torn. It was just lucky that there was no damage to the rest of the sofa as we would not have had a leg to stand on ......
