Tesco C.C interest negotiation

Hi all,

Quick question, the interest free period on my Tesco cc ends this June. Has anyone had any success with negotiating an existing customer rate with them or should I just start looking for a decent b.t card?

What's the plan if you don't find a b.t or negotiate a better rate. I ask since if the debt is the one in your sig, it has gone up rather than down. Was your original aim to use the 0% to give more cash to throw at capital repayments, or as a way to defer the payment at no cost?

The original plan was to just use the card for collecting the free points when we paid for our wedding (had saved the cash beforehand) and things just built up quickly on there. The increase was from a holiday which we booked last year and hadn't had spending money saved up when we went (all before my lbm to be honest).

I would be using the BT or negotiated rate to pay the card down at a minimum of 100per month and extra when finances allow.

In my experience, I would think you are unlikely to get any deviation in the Tesco rate until you have made a few payments. If you are making low payments Tesco will be unlikely to reduce the interest since their margin will go down. They will also know that it is not as easy to move credit as it used to be. If you are making higher payments the may reduce it to tempt you into spending again hoping that you over-extend. Either scenario is questionable.
