Time to go in a mini green house? advice needed

I have just re-potted cucumbers (outdoor bush type) into larger pots, they are about 2-3 inches tall and 2nd leaves growing now. Currently on a south facing window.

When can these go in a mini greenhouse which is against a south facing wall?, temp for the week is set to go no lower than 5 at night.

Shall I support them with small canes?

Tomatoes which are a patio type are smaller but are quite close together will need new pots at the weekend and some are just starting to show 2nd leaves.

When can they go in the mini green house?

Edit- last frost in my area is apparently late April, googled it.

Would keep them inside for now, unless you have a heater, 5 is to low for tomatoes. By all means stick one of each out overnight but be prepared to loose them.

The general rule I follow is tomatoes don't go out until the overnight forecast is 10. Some people might disagree and I am sure certain ones will survive below that but as I said its my general rule.

I live in Surrey and my tomatoes and Cucumbers were started from seed in a perspex greenhouse so they have been out there all the time.

My toms are about 4 inches in height and looking extremely healthy and my cucumbers have 3 good leaves on them now.

Sweetcorn, peppers, chillies, caulis, cabbage, leeks, spring onions etc are also in there.

Checked my thermometer in there earlier and it got up to 32 degrees !!!!! Think I need to go and open the door :-0

    Hi Lisa

Might be an idea to harden them off first. Stick them out at say 8 in morning bringing them in at 8 in the evening. Slowly build this up so they become used to it, next week leave until 9 in the evening.

If plants are hardened off like this they seem to be fine rather than just put out overnight straight from the off.

Thank You, going to leave them for a couple of weeks I think as this weekend is supposed to be a little chilly for May then will harden off as suggested.

Hopping to re pot on Saturday, toms are getting bigger and 3rd leaves are on their way.

My toms are going into a cold greenhouse, no problem. Cues are a little more tender so I will probably pamper indoors for another fortnight. I'm in the sunny southeast.

I put my toms and cucumbers out in the plastic tent last weekend (I am in Bournemouth) and then it rained and rained! I thought they would be OK as they were dry and it wasn't particulalry cold - but it was too much of a shcok for them. I brought them back in on Monday and am nursing them tenderly now - some leaves lost. Lesson learnt - don't cut corners. Time spent properly hardening them off now will pay dividends in the summer.

starting to harden off today, I'm scared :o

Daytime temp is forecast to be 15-19 today and no lower than 11 for the next 5 days but overcast so no direct sun, going to put them in the mini greenhouse with the door open.

Peppers staying in for a while they were the last to germinate so are a week or so behind x
