Im sorry to hear about your tree incident.

Is the tree about still? You could do with looking at it or getting a tree specialist to give his opinion on its condition.

You say it was a whole tree ; was it uprooted or snapped off?
If it was uprooted then I suspect you are stuffed. no tree report will state the conditions of the top and subsoil or the root health ( short of grossly obvious signs like severe dieback or honey fungus)

I would say dependant on the condition of the tree being outwardly fine, you haven't got a chance.

If the tree was healthy I wouldn't even bother trying.
