    No I agree that Halifax £1.25 a week really makes a difference with the mortgage payments.

    I agree, but my internet bill is £25/month, I get £5, Mrs gets £5, joint account gets £5, so the bill becomes £10 :)

    I know with Santander (and therefore presume with others) that it doesn't even have to be all at once. Were you so inclined you could pass the same £250 through all the accounts weekly - it would still total the £1kpm they ask for, but free up £750 for you.
