Hi All,
I'm Looking at this VW Passat, are they reliable and fuel efficient? AT £2350 it's within my price range.

was lightly damaged
well fixed hence price
and no mileage
they have lots of issues
expensive ones at that
plenty of information via vw owners club i would guess?0 -
Quite a few of the 1.9 TDI engines (BXE engine code I think) have issues, especially at higher mileage. In a nutshell, it involves poor oil pressure to the crank bearings, resulting in a sudden con-rod failure (usually No 4) and a big hole in the engine block!0

Basically this model of car should be avoided then.0

How many miles???
Lightly damaged? Cat C or D?
100 = 100hp?
So its under powered, High miles, And previously damaged. Overpriced.
I bought an ex lease one owner mondeo diesel estate 130bhp, 6 speed, 2004 for just over £2000 in Dec 2009.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
You could buy a 130 Sport/Highline on an 04 for that price that isn't damaged...0
