Which sewing machine and why?

Hi OP, I.m just going through the same process as you did last year, and was wondering how your machine was doing? I got rid of an old '70's Singer a couple of years ago and really miss a machine.

I had been dismissing Janome as I wasn't familiar with the brand, but there are some really good reviews, and with the one you bought. And yes, whoever said buying a car was hard, they have never bought a sewing machine!!

Janome is a high quality brand, US sewers rave about them. If you are near a John Lewis branch you can easily try one out and see if it "feels" right.
