Hi I have just come back from holiday and would like to send all the pics and vidoe clips to my friend who went with me (there were 18 of us) I have compressed them with winzip but i'm guessing the file is too large for my gmail account as I keep getting a error code up every time iI try to send it.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Pete.

If you're quick, burn it to CD. Pop it in the post first class and he'll have it tomorrow morning.
Or use Irfanview and resize all the pics to a reasonable size and select the top 20 and then email these.
Or upload the files to somewhere like imageshack and let him download them one by one.0 -
Sorry it should have been friends not friend.I'll get me coat!0

Best to upload them to imageshack or similar and let them view and copy the ones they want.0

Chose one if these, load it up, and mail them the link.
Edit: Im not sure who else could get access, but I dont know how important that is....

A friend of mine always puts together a little section on a website for things like this. It is always amusing to click on his site and recall old parties and holidays etc. Definitely look to reduce the file size of the images (batch convert to jpeg if they are not already in this format) and batch resample to a smaller image size."I hear and I forget. I think it would be best to open a Gmail account.
Gmail gives you up to 2GB of space. Open the account. Load the images and send them the login details of the email account.
Edit:
I just had a quick check of Gmail and noticed they do Picasa, a free 250MB online photo album.

The problem you'll have (and I did internet technical support for 5 years for a number of internet providers) is not that you can't get a mail box to hold the amount to send but the fact that generally sending anything over 1mb will mean a number of attempts to get all the attachment when your friends try to recieve the email with your pics and clips. It's not uncommon for 1mb email to take 5 or 6 attempts to come through..in the mean time it'll block any other email they get on the same email address. I can only guess it may take a very large number of attempts to get your message - 80 plus I'd think!
Best uploading everything to one of the free webspaces then sending the links to all your friends.0 -
Why not set up an account with photobox.com
Upload all your photos into an album and then send your mate an invitation to view them. Simple!
They even offer free prints once you sign up.0 -
you could split it into 100mb files and upload them to something like http://rapidshare.com/
then just give your friends the urls to download from0
