How much to replace front wishbone bush.....
Comments
-
Usually cheaper just to get a new wishbone (lower arm). The bushes themselves will obviously be cheaper, but due to the old bushes often not wanting to budge and being an altogether more hellish job, thus incurring more labour charges, a new arm would be better and cheaper. Also, a lot of Auto Factors only stock arms as complete sets anyway, instead of bushes.
The wishbones aren't the most expensive of items anyway, hence why most people get them replaced as opposed to the worn bushes these days. Fords are so bad for worn bushes that it's almost a service item and the wishbones cost about a tenner!
All in probably looking at an hours labour, plus the part cost so around £100 more than likely.0 -
Thanks for that
It's a car I'm looking at buying but it's failed it's mot on the above bush, the seller has offered to knock £100 off the price to cover the repair... seems fair enough!Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
More than plenty. I'd be surprised if it cost £60-£70 to do including the part.0

I'd be more tempted to up the price you pay by £100 provided the seller gets it fixed and a new MOT0

Just to update....
I bought the car with the £100 "discount" & took it back to the garage that MOTd it. They replaced the bush for £30 & issued the MOT so can't complain.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0
