Great - I'll have everything crossed for you :)
Now also make sure you keep to writing to as a back up

Maybe get letter from the boss or whoever to back up what you're saying if needbe, leave bank balance as low as you can

If it goes wrong you have a complaints process you can go through - always remember that

Drop that "debt helper" like a bad penny
CCCS and National Debtline are free to call from a mobile now (even better) and both have websites with letter templates and help etc
  • My own advice would be to borrow this money from somewhere to enable you to pay it back on time - it's possible it could save you grief going forward. Whether that be friend, family or work it wouldn't really matter.

Other than that, perhaps you could consider looking for another job? Think I'd be a bit underwhelmed myself if my employers took repeated liberties with pay day.

  • Hi there tell_it_how_it_is,
Believe me im on the jobhunt almost everyday, I don't particularly enjoy working at the place I do now, they really do take liberties with everything. I had an accident last year where my fingers went under an automatic press, was off work for 2 weeks and when I told them I was going to be putting a claim in, they paid me off to not put one in!
I will try and see if I can lend the money some other way tomorrow, if that fails I will call CG and tell them my situation and try and work things out with them. Thankyou again guys, will keep you updated :) x

Is there nobody at your work who can front you a sub against this weeks wages? After all it is totally their fault you're shafted like this.

Jeez, that "getback" website is truly atrocious.
  • Hello guys!
Just a quick update, a very good friend of mine has offered to lend me the money to pay CG back :) I think I might pay them back early, i.e. tomorrow, call them and let them know, and hopefully this will all be over and done with by the weekend :) would like to thank you all for your advice and help, and look forward to talking with you all more :) x

    Well done :)

And buy that good friend a drink next time you are out, those type of people are rare these days sadly.
  • Good result, let us know how it goes.

Just make sure you pay back your friend - we don't want to see them popping up on the board asking how to get their money back from you ;)
    Thinking critically since 1996....
  • I know! I feel so lucky to have a friend like him, and I'm eternally grateful for his help :) I've arranged to pay him back £50 a week, and I won't let him down, I'm honestly not like that, it was just unfortunate this whole rigmarole started through boss's incompetence! But all sorted, panic over (hopefully!) At least I can try and get a decent nights sleep tonight! Again, thankyou all :D xxxx
  • Brilliant, I'm so chuffed for you :T really your mate lending is one of the best solutions all round - big pat on the back to that matey of yours and remember nothing is worth 'the' payday loan worry, try put this behind you and no more loans, look after yourself and the pennies x
