Hello all, I'm new here
I wondered if you could help me out please?
I took a payday loan out with Cash Genie a couple of weeks ago for £100 and agreed to pay them back in full on the 4th of May which is this Friday coming that's £100 for the loan and £30 charge totalling to £130. My paydate has changed this week and I will not be getting paid until the 18th of May now, I'm stuck on what to do now, I have read some terrible reviews about Cash Genie and how they take almost £800 from peoples accounts without telling them, and I'm terrified of contacting them to let them know the changes incase they do the same to me, I'm currently paying a mortgage plus bills on top of that and I'm scared to death they will debit my account, taking more than I owe. I have full intention of paying them back, but I'm worried that they will not understand this, due to the comments I have seen about them. Could you help me and give me piece of mind please? Since reading all this I've been worried sick about what they might do. Any help will be appreciated. I do want to pay them back, I just don't want to have all my money taken off me for a mistake that I didn't make, as it is my employers fault for changing my pay date. Does anyone have any advice that I can use please? I emailed some guy named Andy Sellars who has a website called gback.co.uk, but he emailed me back saying that he would write to them for me and arrange an repayment plan, but all i want is to change my paydate and hopefully not accrue any charges for something that isn't my fault.
Any advice would be brilliant please

It seems really unlikely to me that your employer is changing your pay date and only giving you a week's notice, so it will seem unlikely to them too.
Can you just roll it over and pay extra interest on pay day?
Can you pawn something at cash convertors to pay them off? games console, pc, jewellry?Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
Since your employer has changed your pay date with so little notice, it would be quite in order to insist that they give you an advance to cover this payment.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

Not ideal but what about getting a loan with another of these lenders which you will repay on the 18th or 19th of May for the £130 you need to repay plus whatever charge the new company make.0

Hmm, i suppose I could roll it over, I just don't want to be charged an extortionate amount, I've read about just how much they take from peoples accounts

Can I just ask why it seems unlikely for my employer to change my paydate? They have done this to me before, its on the occasion when they go on holiday and the boss who deals with our wages forgets to pay us, as he has done in this case. Trust me, the whole workforce went mad about this, our bosses are the kind who don't care about anything else but how much goes out at the end of the week.
Anyway, that's beside the point, thankyou for getting back to me about this, I guess I should just ring them and let them know the changes?0 -
It may cost another £30-50 to roll over but if you cannot get an advance from your employer it seems the most sensible option.
Could you not ask friends or family for a sub? or sell something.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
Are you paid weekly or monthly ?
If you were due to be paid the 4th then why is it moved to the 18th ?0 -

I did think of this the other day, I'm not too keen on getting another loan out with these lenders, but it does seem the only option at the moment. I have tried this week, but the ones I have applied to have either turned me down or forwarded me to website after website of lenders and brokers.
Thankyou for your advice guys

Hi, I'm paid weekly normally, but as i said in my last but one post the bloke who deals with our wages has gone and !!!!!!ed off on holiday! I'm honestly not kidding you all on this, its how our company has always been.0 -
For my sins, I've used Cash Genie once upon a time and found them no bother, one of the less ruthless as along as you're upfront honest and can agree a solution - they will try and assist
I was able to move a payment date with no problems or extra charges incurred and agreed that the CG rep would be calling on x day to take the payment
Still trying to work out if that was because I'm a local-ton to the company and they knew where they would probably find me!
Please, PLEASE do not pay anyone to manage your debts - go through one of the debt charities - CCCS, Payplan, National Debtline0 -

Okay, great! Thankyou for that! I will give them a call and explain what I have explained here. I mean to make this easier I can offer to pay the £30 charge this week and pay the rest off the date I get paid again.
And I didn't email that guy back, he mentioned in his email that he couldn't afford to keep writing letters to these companies and that I should write him a testimonial that costs £20 per loan! So i didnt bother replying!
Thankyou very much again, ill just call them up and be honest with them
